Dr. C. S. Ravichandran is a distinguished academic leader and the current Dean of the Engineering and Technology at St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research (SPIHER), a Deemed to be University in Chennai. With a profound academic background and extensive experience, he has made significant contributions to the fields of Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Control Systems.

He earned his Ph.D. in Control Systems from PSG College of Technology, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, in 2008. He also holds an M.E. in Power Systems from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Bharathidasan University, Trichy, completed in 1993. His B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering was awarded by Shanmugha College of Engineering, Bharathidasan University, Trichy, in 1989.

He has held various key positions throughout his career, including Principal, Dean, Professor, Head of the Department, and Controller of Examination. These roles have enabled him to shape academic programs, mentor students, and oversee the administration of educational standards. His leadership in these positions has had a lasting impact on the institutions he has served, fostering an environment where academic excellence and research are prioritized.

With a deep passion for academic research and development, Dr. Ravichandran has successfully guided 20 Ph.D. scholars to completion and is currently supervising one doctoral candidate at Anna University, Chennai.

His research contributions are extensive, with 194 publications in reputed journals and conferences. His intellectual property portfolio includes 6 copyrights and 7 patents, reflecting his innovative work in technology and engineering.

Over the years, he has received four prestigious awards for his outstanding contributions to engineering and academia. His expertise is also sought after in industry, having engaged in three consultancy projects, applying his knowledge to solve real-world challenges in Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Control Systems.

A committed educator, Dr. Ravichandran has played a vital role in faculty and student development. He has organized 60 Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, and seminars while actively participating in 75 such programs to stay updated with the latest advancements in his field.

His primary research interests include Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Control Systems, where his work has contributed to advancements in sustainable and efficient power technologies.

Dr. Ravichandran’s expertise, dedication, and passion for research and education make him an invaluable leader at SPIHER, where he continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of engineers and researchers. His academic journey and contributions to the field stand as a testament to his commitment to excellence in higher education and research.
