About The Department
The department of Commerce was started in the year 2016 with objectives of promoting teaching, research and to produce employable graduates in area of business, commerce and allied areas. The Department offers B.Com (General), B.Com (Accounting and Finance), B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship), B.Com (Bank Management), M.Com, and Ph.D. programmes from the academic year 2017- 2018. This courses specializes in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Banking, Tax management, Insurance, Business environment.
The department aims to develop students to be highly efficient leaders and managers. It imparts realistic education catering to contemporary industrial demands. The department teaches the syllabi through learner- centered teaching methods such as case studies, field visits, and project work. To be a global Centre of excellence for training and research in the field of commerce.
The department offers the value added certificate courses namely, Software Office Automation Tolls, Statistical Package for Social Science and Tally. To be a global centre of excellence for training and research in the field of commerce. To promote valued based education for the personality development and leadership qualities.
From the academic year 2016- 2017 the university follows Choice Based Credit System for UG, PG courses proramme.

The primary objectives of this commerce is to offer quality management education to students on par with global standard. To gain practical exposure in business and legal, finance and accounts, personnel and administration area, students are given training for a period in reputed business enterprises. This progrmme compresses the core courses and elective courses namely accounting for finance, cost and management, Business economics, Indian economy, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Direct and Indirect Tax Management, Banking and Business environment and Ethics. It is a full time regular programme of three years duration consisting of six semester.The total credit for the B.Com (General) Degree Programme (6 semesters) is 140 Credits.
Eligibility: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or CBSE or an Examinations accepted by the University as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission to three year B.Com. Degree Programme.

The courses of M.Com are periodically updated and designed according to the development in the internal and external sector of Indian economy and global market. This progrmme compresses the core courses and elective courses namely accounting for finance, cost and management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Direct and Indirect Tax Management, Banking and Business environment and Ethics. It is a full time regular programme of two years duration consisting of four semester.The total credit for the M.Com Degree Programme (6 semesters) is 90 Credits.
