Major. Dr.M. VENKATRAMANAN, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D has rich experience as Head of the Institution in leading Arts and Science Colleges and Dean at SRM .Started his career as Economists, and served as Member Syndicate, Member Senate, Member Academic Council, Member – Affiliation Committee, Member – Curriculum Committee, Member – Advisory Committee IDE, Member – Establishment Committee at University Of Madras. Serving as Active Member in Indian Economic Association, New Delhi, Active member in Tamil Nadu Economic Association, Association of Economists of Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry, Indian Society of Industrial and Fiscal Economics (ISIFE), New Delhi, Institute of Advanced Studies and Research (IASR)s. Honored with many awards and has travelled many countries for sharing the research knowledge across.

With a deep passion for academic research and development, Dr. Ravichandran has successfully guided 20 Ph.D. scholars to completion and is currently supervising one doctoral candidate at Anna University, Chennai.
His research contributions are extensive, with 194 publications in reputed journals and conferences. His intellectual property portfolio includes 6 copyrights and 7 patents, reflecting his innovative work in technology and engineering.
Over the years, he has received four prestigious awards for his outstanding contributions to engineering and academia. His expertise is also sought after in industry, having engaged in three consultancy projects, applying his knowledge to solve real-world challenges in Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Control Systems.
A committed educator, Dr. Ravichandran has played a vital role in faculty and student development. He has organized 60 Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, and seminars while actively participating in 75 such programs to stay updated with the latest advancements in his field.
His primary research interests include Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Control Systems, where his work has contributed to advancements in sustainable and efficient power technologies.
Dr. Ravichandran’s expertise, dedication, and passion for research and education make him an invaluable leader at SPIHER, where he continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of engineers and researchers.
