The Dean of Planning, Development, and Accreditation at St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research (SPIHER), Chennai, is a distinguished academician known for his simplicity and significant contributions to education and research. He earned his Doctorate in Biotechnology from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, in 1998.
His academic journey began as a Lecturer and Head of the Department of Microbiology at RVS College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, in 1998. In 2002, he joined Karpagam Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, as a Senior Lecturer, Head, and Founder of the Department of Microbiology. Subsequently, he served as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Biology at Eritrea Institute of Technology, Eritrea, for a year.

In 2008, he was appointed Head of the Department of Microbiology at Karpagam Academy of Higher Education (Deemed to be University), Coimbatore. His leadership extended until 2014, when he was promoted to Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Science, and Humanities, a position he held until 2019. From 2020 to 2022, he served as Registrar at Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, where he was responsible for preparing institutional documents for NIRF, NAAC, and AISHE rankings.
With 25 years of teaching experience and 30 years of research expertise in Biotechnology, his academic accomplishments are noteworthy. He has published 143 research papers in reputed journals, filed seven patents, and completed five major research projects funded by UGC, DST, DBT, and SERB. He has successfully guided 20 scholars toward earning their PhDs.
His name is featured in Marquis Who’s Who in Biotechnology, and he is a Fellow of Applied Biotechnology, India. His research focuses include microbial enzyme technology, food biotechnology, and healthcare science. He has traveled to Singapore, Thailand, Eritrea, Malaysia, and Qatar for various academic endeavors.
Since 2023, he has been serving as Dean of Planning, Development, and Accreditation at St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research (SPIHER), Chennai, contributing significantly to institutional growth and academic excellence.
