Army Attachment Camp (AAC) 2026 – 4/8 Gorkha Rifles, Bengaluru: Three NCC cadets from SPIHER—CDT Mahant Gajenthiran (I Year B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, TN2025SDIA6930985), CDT M. Sathiyavasan (I Year B. Tech Biomedical Engineering, TN2025SDIA6930984), and CDT Praveen Kumar C (II Year B.Sc. Microbiology, TN2025SDIA6930953)—successfully completed the 12-day Army Attachment Camp at 4/8 Gorkha Rifles, Bengaluru. The camp provided firsthand exposure to the discipline, lifestyle, and operational environment of the Indian Army through daily physical training, drill, martial arts, obstacle training, weapon familiarization and handling of the 7.62 mm SIG Assault Rifle and 7.62 mm IWI Negev LMG, weapon stripping and assembling (Kholna–Jodna), Quick Reaction Team demonstrations, and visits to the soldiers’ barracks, quarter guard, military prison, and the War Memorial. Cadets also attended lectures on Army recruitment, the Agnipath Scheme, Agniveer benefits, fire safety, first aid and CPR, gallantry awards, drone technology, and modern warfare, while actively participating in barrack maintenance, sentry duties, room inspections, International Yoga Day, Temple Parade (Bhajan), cultural programmes, and the closing campfire. The camp significantly enhanced the cadets’ discipline, leadership, teamwork, confidence, and patriotism, making it an enriching and memorable military training experience.
