Institutional Academic Integrity Panel (IAIP)
The Institutional Academic Integrity Panel (IAIP) is a statutory body constituted under the UGC Regulations, 2018 on the Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions. Its primary role is to uphold academic integrity, prevent plagiarism, and ensure ethical practices in teaching, research, and publication. Serving as the apex body at the institutional level, it examines cases of academic misconduct referred by the Departmental Academic Integrity Panel (DAIP) and recommends appropriate actions based on the severity of violations.
The IAIP comprises senior faculty members, subject experts, administrative representatives, and an external academician, ensuring fairness and transparency in decision-making. Its functions include evaluating plagiarism reports, conducting hearings where necessary, recommending corrective measures, and maintaining proper records. In addition to addressing misconduct, the panel actively fosters a culture of ethical scholarship by organizing awareness programs, workshops, and training sessions. It also ensures that all academic outputs—theses, dissertations, research papers, and project reports—are screened using approved plagiarism detection software before acceptance.
By encouraging originality, accountability, and responsible research practices, the IAIP safeguards the credibility of the institution’s intellectual contributions. It functions not only as a regulatory mechanism but also as a guiding body that strengthens innovation, critical thinking, and academic excellence, thereby enhancing both institutional reputation and societal trust. The Institutional Academic Integrity Panel (IAIP) is constituted with the following members.
