B.Sc. (CHEMISTRY)

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • PEO1: To enable graduates to have a successful career in academia (or) industries  associated with chemistry.
  • PEO2: To provide students with strong foundational concept and techniques in chemistry to enable them to provide solution of various simple chemical problems.
  • PEO3: To make students critically analyse learnt topics of specialization to develop innovative methodology to provide solutions.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

Chemistry graduates will be able to

  • PO1: Apply  the knowledge of chemistry to the solution of complex problems.
  • PO2: Identify formulae and analyse complex chemical problems using chemical principles.
  • PO3: Use acquired knowledge and method to analyse and interpert synthesis and conclusion.
  • PO4: To create, select and apply appropriate technique to solve chemical problems.
  • PO5: Apply gained knowledge effectively in solving industrial problems.
  • PO6: Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in  diverse teams and in multi disciplinary settings.

M.Sc. (CHEMISTRY) DEGREE PROGRAMME

  • PEO2: Effective implementation of basic analytical and technical skills in the field of chemistry.
  • PEO3: Ability to conduct experiments with appropriate techniques and proficiency.
  • PEO4:To get ability to perform quantitative measurements with understanding of theory.
  • PEO5:To develop skills in quantitative modeling and lab competence.
  • PEO6:To use spectroscopy effectively relating to chemical structure.
  • PEO7: Ability to synthesise, separate and characterise compounds using modern instruments.

  • PSO1: Gain complete knowledge about all aspects of chemistry and to persue Ph.D  programme.
  • PSO2: Understand the organic reactions mechanisms, complex chemical structures, instrumental method of chemical analysis and molecular rearrangements.
  • PSO3: Learn about potential uses of analytical industrial chemistry, polymer chemistry and Bioorganic chemistry.
  • PSO4: Carry out experiments in organic analysis, estimation, separations and inorganic qualitative and quantitative analysis,Analytical tools and chemical kinetics and thermodynamics.
