The department has been upgraded with a research department in 2017 with the starting of M.Phil.andPh.D. programme in commerce. The key objectives of research programme is develop researchers and scholars in the discipline of commerce and to foster and stimulate academic and research work in commerce. Research contributes content to teaching. Any quality teaching draws on quality research. To encouraging and support socially relevant and need based research coupled with human values. The student keep with latest development in their discipline by presenting research paper in various conferences, to eminent business leader. M.Phil. programme compresses the core courses namely, Business Research Methods, Emerging Trends in Commerce and elective courses namely,Advanced Financial Management, International Marketing, Human Resource Management. The course shall extend over a period of one year academic year consisting of two semester.The total credit for the M.Phil. Degree Programme is 30 Credits. The M.Phil and Ph.D Students are admitted through entrance tests and interviews. The whole admission process is closely monitored and controlled by Dean of Research and Development and admission committee constituted every academic year.
Eligibility: Candidates who have secured a minimum of 55% in aggregate in M.Com (General or with any other specialization) degree of this university (or) its equivalent course recognized by the Madras university are eligible to apply for M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Commerce.
