The department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in the year 1993 with an initial intake of 60 students in the under graduate program. The vision of the department is to impart quality education to our students and keep them updated with the latest trends in technology by organizing add on courses that meets the present industry requirements. The department strives to achieve its vision by its highly qualified and dedicated team of faculty. To promote higher education, M.E (Computer Science and Engineering) and Ph.D., was started in the year 2008.
Computer Science and Engineering is leading the way in revolutionizing and making the current digital world a reality. The department is equipped with state-of-art computing facilities to impart practical exposure to the students in the recent advancements in the field of information technology. Final year students are offered placement and personality development training programmes to augment their technical and behavioral skills. The department has an excellent placement record and our major recruiters are Amazon, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, Maersk, Syntel, Odyssey, Sans Peril, CSS, Sutherland, QSpider, Maxit, etc., Besides looking forward for employment opportunities, our students also show keen interest in pursuing higher studies. Our alma mater are pursuing their higher studies in reputed institutions like Anna University, IMT Hyderabad in India and abroad.
With excellent enrollment record in the Ph.D program our department provides an ambient environment for aspiring researchers. Active research is carried out in the thrust areas such as mobile computing, wireless sensor networks, pervasive computing, data mining and warehousing, multimedia communication, software engineering and knowledge management, etc., Our students projects and research proposals are short listed for funding by various organizations at the national and state level such as India National Academy of Engineering and TamilNadu Council for Science and Technology.
To align with the growing trends of the IT industry the department periodically organizes workshops and conferences in the national and international levels on various topics such as Big Data & Cloud Computing, Advanced Java and DOTNET programming, Open Source Software Systems to mention a few. To bridge the academic-industry gap the students are motivated to undergo in plant training and industrial visits. Short term entrepreneurship development programs are conducted periodically to create awareness about various business opportunities available and the details of the various schemes provided by our government to encourage young entrepreneurs. They also actively take part in NSS camps to serve the downtrodden society at large.
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1993, with an intake of 60 students. The department has produced several university ranks including University first rank in the year 2004. The students intake of UG was increased to 120 in the year 2005. To promote higher education, a Post graduate Programme M.E (Applied Electronics) was started in the same year. In this academic year the Dept. has stared another PG degree Programme M.E., in the discipline of Communication Systems. The department also offers Research Programmes MS and PhD . Campus interviews are conducted every year by leading software and hardware companies. Several of our students are placed in national and multinational companies like Infosys, Polaris, Cognizant, Airtel, Aircel, ISRO, HCL, etc. The dept has got well equipped Laboratories and Computer facilities along with High speed Internetwork.

The department of Information Technology was started in the year 1997 -1998 with an intake of 40 and it is increased to 60 during the year 2000 – 2001 and further increased to 120 in 2006 – 2007. The department has started M.Tech degree Course with and intake of 18 in the year 2007 – 08 and also offers Research Ph.D. The Department has produced several university ranks during the year 2009.
The Department of information Technology is fully equipped with the state of the art laboratories having only HP Machines. We have 3 Servers ( 2-LINUX, 3-WINDOWS 2003 including 2 Backup Servers with x200 series and x205 series) connected to 180 P-IV nodes. The Department is having all the latest licensed Softwares and having Microsoft Campus Agreement for Campus Licenses.
Our department faculty members are dedicated and experienced having multi expertisation in areas like Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing , OS, DBMS , Grid Computing and Data Mining etc., Our students are encouraged to participate in various activities like Paper Presentation, Sports and Cultural Activities. Many of our students are placed in leading IT Companies like IBM, HP, Infosys, WIPRO, TCS and CTS.

Biomedical engineering (BME) is the application of engineering principles and techniques to the medical field. It combines the design and problem solving skills of engineering with medical and biological sciences to improve healthcare diagnosis and treatment.
Much of the work in biomedical engineering consists of research and development, spanning a broad array of subfields. They play a prominent role in the mangement of resources in hospitals. Prominent biomedical engineering applications include the development of biocompatible prostheses, various diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices ranging from clinical equipment to micro-implants, common imaging equipment such as MRIs and EEGs, biotechnologies such as regenerative tissue growth, and pharmaceutical drugs & biopharmaceuticals.

An institution head should look at a biomedical engineer as a guide.
Challenges ahead of a Biomedical Engineer
The biggest challenge is that medical technology is changing so fast that it is very important to keep abreast of this changing technology. When institutions are looking at cost-effective solutions, they need to get more and more sensitised to the fact that it is not just important to have greatest of the technology but to see that what is the end service they give to patients.
