B.E. – Biomedical Engineering

Department of Biomedical Engineering is recognized as a world leader in preparing students for careers in industry and business and for graduate education in engineering, medicine, and science. Biomedical engineering, or bioengineering, is the application of engineering principles to the fields of biology and health care. Biomedical engineers work with doctors, therapists and researchers to develop systems, equipment and devices in order to solve clinical problems. Biomedical engineering utilizes knowledge from traditional engineering disciplines to solve problems in living systems. The undergraduate program contains a set of “core knowledge,” defined and taught by the faculty, that future biomedical engineers should possess.

Our students were exposed to various trainings in hospitals and companies. Various programmes like seminars, workshops were organized by the department to inculcate research in the young minds. Students were encouraged by giving seed money for the best ideas do their project.

B.E- COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

BASIC PROGRAMME DETAILS

Our department offers B.E., degree course in Computer Science and Engineering. The duration of the course is 4 years which is divided into 8 semesters, with each semester lasting a period of 6 months. During first four semesters, the curriculum focuses more on theoretical and its associated practical sessions. During the fifth and sixth semester focus is more on training the students in IT industry relevant topics. Industrial visits, inplant training and internships are made mandatory and the students are also encouraged to do mini projects in the recent trending topics and societal values. In the last two semesters, more priority is given to project work.

SCOPE, JOB OPPORTUNITIES AND SALARY DETAILS

Job opportunities are available in government and private sectors. Starting salary lies in the range 2.5-6 lakhs per annum. Some of the common job posts that our students take up after completing their B.E., degree course in CSE are:

B.E., – COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING SPECIALIZATION IN CLOUD AND AI (JOINT PROGRAMME WITH IBM )

BASIC PROGRAMME DETAILS

Our department offers B.E., degree course in Computer Science and Engineering specialization in Cloud and Artificial Intelligence. This is a joint program in association with IBM.  The duration of the course is 4 years which is divided into 8 semesters, with each semester lasting a period of 6 months. The scope of this program is to keep pace with the changing requirements in the IT industry and make our students job ready.

Salient Features of this program are:

  • Various courses in this program and its syllabus are framed by IBM in association with SPIHER.
  • The courses will be handled by resource persons from IBM
  • Students will be trained on industry standard IBM platforms that will provide the students firsthand experience on commercial setup.
  • IBM supports the students to enhance their learning experience by providing inplant training and internships.
  • IBM extensively supports students projects by assigning and guiding them to work on real world industry problems.

Our department offers Ph.D degree course in Computer Science and Engineering.  Ph.D in computer science is a research degree that builds on students’ existing knowledge researching, developing, implementing and maintaining information systems. It deals with new and developing technologies in the field of computer engineering.

Research study in computer science and engineering will enable the candidates to work on  exciting projects that have life-changing implications for people. To purse research candidates should posses T shaped knowledge, having good understanding of wide range of topics and exploring in depth the topic of specialization.  All sciences are somehow influenced or impacted by computer science, so by getting involved in this field, one could pursue careers in a vast majority of fields such as business, entertainment, etc.,

Ph.D. – Information Technology

This department is in possession of faculties with Doctoral degrees and staff with adequate subject knowledge to impart right directions in the field of research oriented topics and project work. Department is in the process of attracting more students by way of conducting National and International seminars and publication of research works in reputed journals to highlight uniqueness . Our Department has signed MoUs with industries and institutions to promote collaborative research and consultancies.

CERTIFICATE COURSES

Red Hat Enterprise Linux – CORE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION (45 Hours)

Objectives:

    • To provide a curriculum to help students keep pace with the demands of industry. 
    • To learn rather than theoretical skills, students learn practical skills based on use cases from thousands of implementations.
    • To close the technology skills gap between the software industry and the academic institutions. 

KAIZEN ROBOTICS PROGRAM (40 Hours)

Objectives:

  • To provide students a steep learning curve in the field of Robotics.
  • To learn the basics of Embedded Systems in the design of Robots.
  • To make students ready for Nationwide Robotics and Hackathon competitions.

MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE (30 Hours)

Objectives:

  • To gain knowledge in the latest Microsoft  framed Courses
  • To provide an opportunity to learn one of the Advanced Platform widely used.
  • To apply knowledge gained in the programming in various industrial critical applications 
  • To make the students Industry Ready.


Ph.D. – Civil Engineering

Doctor of Philosophy programme (Ph.D) in Civil Engineering provides an opportunity for students to pursue a program of research in a specialized area and to develop a dissertation that embodies the results of original research and gives evidence of high scholarship. In Ph.D research scholars may choose any of the specializations.

 



Ph.D. – Mechanical Engineering

Our campus is witnessing an exponential growth in R&D activities. Apart from a large consultancy work undertaken by our Mechanical Engineering department, Academic research gains its momentum day by day. Nearly 26 research scholars are undergoing their Ph.D in various fields in Mechanical engineering. Young faculty members pursuing doctoral degree are offered seed money to start their research and also stipend is given for full time Research scholars.

Papers have been published by our faculty members and research scholars in different refereed journals of international and national repute. Research papers have been presented in various conferences, seminars and symposia held at national and international levels. Our Department has signed MOUs with industries and institutions to promote collaborative research and consultancies.

Our campus is witnessing an exponential growth in R&D activities. Ph.D. – Electrical and Electronics Engineering

The research division covers various aspects of electrical engineering. There is an active and growing area of research in the field of power electronics & drives, power apparatus and systems, whilst collaborating with each other and a variety of industrial partners. The research group focuses on power electronic devices and integrated circuits, and their uses in various applications. Other major research strands include FACTS and their integration in power systems, integrated design of electrical machines and drives and electromagnetic modeling.

M.Tech. – Information Technology

Department offers PG programme in information technology for the academic uplift of UG students in engineering which paves the way for acquiring knowledge in depth. Candidate with higher academic qualification will be given preference for technical skills and getting more insight into the subjects which is already familiar learnt at the bachelor level. Completion of this programme envisages better prospects of higher studies in India and abroad in addition to offer of employment to students of their choice in this field.



M.E. – Computer Science and Engineering

Our department offers M.E., degree course in Computer Science and Engineering. The duration of the course is 2 years which is divided into 4 semesters, with each semester lasting a period of 6 months. During first two semesters, the curriculum focuses more on theoretical and its associated practical and experiment sessions. In the last two semesters, more priority is given to project work.

M.E., Computer Science and Engineering program revolves around concepts and topics such as  networking, Information Technology, Web Technology, Programming, Software Engineering, Logic and Algorithm etc. Though these topics were present at the UG level, the curriculum and syllabi is much more advanced and detailed in the PG level of Computer Science and Engineering.
